Lingering Warmth of Flames

Every shade of red is a trace of a heartbeat. This is a horizontal study of peonies, where I abandoned all decorative backgrounds. I let the red and black clash directly on the paper. The ink-wash leaves cut through in broad planes, accentuating the weight and fervor of the crimson blooms.

I want the viewer to feel a warmth akin to flowing blood—these are not static flowers, but "breaths" that rise and fall with the artist’s emotions. It is a longing for the lingering heat of summer and a tribute to life’s most incandescent moments.
