About the Artist

InkXiao ArtStudio is the creative space of artist Xiao Xie, dedicated to the contemporary interpretation of Chinese ink painting. The studio strives to merge traditional ink techniques with modern aesthetics, creating works that bridge cultural heritage and contemporary sensibility.

Artistic Philosophy

Each work begins with a deep engagement with the classical tradition — studying the masters, understanding the principles of brushwork, ink gradation, and compositional harmony — before finding a personal voice that speaks to the present moment.

The studio's practice encompasses both original compositions and interpretive studies after historical masters such as Huang Binhong and Song dynasty painters, exploring the living dialogue between past and present in Chinese ink art.

Medium & Technique

Working primarily with ink and mineral pigments on xuan paper, the studio explores the full expressive range of the medium — from delicate botanical studies to bold landscape compositions. Each piece is unique, bearing the irreversible marks of the brush and the unpredictable qualities of ink on absorbent paper.
