Bloom

Beneath beauty lies an unyielding self-respect. The Oleander masks its sharpness with charming pinks. 
I used moist strokes to convey the density and softness of the blossoms, yet the leaves remain as upright as longswords.
This visual contradiction is my interpretation of the plant’s character.

It is gentle yet dangerous; open yet defensive. Within the light, flaxen tones hides a life force that refuses to compromise. This is more than a botanical study; it is a safeguard for the inner self.
